Ministries - Youth
Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF)
JYF are youth in grades 3 through 5. Their Sunday
school class meets on the second floor of the Education Building
10:15 til 11:05. JYF will have a new curriculum for Sunday School
called Bible Zone Live. Their teachers are Angie
Strickland and Mary Jane Weatherman.
JYF evening fellowship time is
in the Family Life Center. They meet on Sundays from 4:00 until
5:30. The JYF evening group begins with games in the gym and
progresses to their room in the FLC for Bible Study, crafts, sharing
time, and refreshments. JYF curriculum for 2008- 2009 is titled
The Big Book of Bible Questions. Sponsors
for this group are Senior Minister David Brice and Debbie Renfro
Their annual special events
include a trip to the Corn Maze for Halloween; a Fall service
project; and a one-week Summer camp at Camp Couchdale (Hot Springs,
Arkansas) in June.
Chi-Rho
Chi Rho are youth in grades 6 through 8. Their
Sunday school class meets in the Ben Bacon Memorial Lounge in the
Family Life Center from 10:15 til 11:05. Their teacher is Barbara
Fanta.
Chi Rho evening fellowship time
is also in the Family Life Center. They meet on Sundays from 4:00
until 5:30. The Chi Rho evening group begins with games in the gym
and progresses to their room in the FLC for Bible Study and sharing
time. Chi Rho curriculum for 2008-2009 is titled Images of
Christ (In Hebrews, In the Gospel, In Us). Sponsors for
this group are Rob and Martha Burgess and Dana and Randy Mattison.
Their annual special events
include Fall Fandango (a regional rally) in Hot Springs, Arkansas;
participation in Youth Sunday; a one-week Summer camp at Camp
Couchdale (Hot Springs, Arkansas) in June; and a summer trip.
Christian Youth
Fellowship (CYF) CYF
are youth in grades 9 through 12. Their Sunday school class meets
in Room 3 in the Family Life Center from 10:15 til 11:05. Their
teacher is Susan Foster.
CYF evening fellowship time is
also in the Family Life Center. They meet on Sundays from 4:00
until 5:30. The CYF evening group begins with games in the gym and
progresses to their CYF Room 3 in the FLC for Bible Study and
sharing time. Their curriculum for this school years is Synago.
Synago is the Greek word for "come together." The
goal of this resource is to strengthen members' spiritual
relationship with God and Jesus Christ. Sponsors for this group are
Tammy Bradford, Rick and Kathy Elliott, Adam Traylor and Kim Fricks.
Their annual special events
include a TCU-CYF Day at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth,
Texas, October 4th and 5th where they tour the
campus, attend a Christian mixer and a TCU football game; a
Mid-Winter Rally in February; participation in Youth Sunday; a
one-week Summer camp at Camp Couchdale (Hot Springs, Arkansas) in
June; and a summer trip. |
